Police across America are dealing with an influx of car thefts due to the latest and most wreckless TikTok trend we've seen in a while.

Various users are posting TikTok videos instructing viewers how to steal certain models of Hyundai or Kia vehicles by simply using a USB drive to start the engine without a key.

Some users have made videos and posted them on the platform giving step-by-step instructions for how to steal Hyundai and Kia cars made before a certain date.

Police are now warning drivers to use preventative measures, such as steering wheel locks or other safety devices in order to keep their cars safe.

TikTok has already addressed the situation, saying that it does not condone the videos and is actively removing the videos as they are uploaded.

The trend is being called “Kia Boyz,” and according to the videos, once a thief is in the vehicle, they take off the ignition column, and stick a USB drive in the exposed piece to start the vehicle without having a key or code.

Kia and Hyundai are both aware and are taking action to help customers with preventative action.
